I’ve been on a real baking run lately. First cupcakes, now brownies! These aren’t your normal chocolate brownies though. They have a layer of salted caramel in the middle.
First comes the batter…(follow the recipe on the box!)
The directions called for half of the batter to be spread evenly on the pan.
Then came the hard part…layering the salted caramel. I cut a hole about .5 inch in the salted caramel package, and later realized my mistake. The hole needed to be smaller, otherwise the caramel would come out in large drops and hence, uneven on the batter. I tried to get what I could from the package and then layered the rest of the batter over the caramel, covering my sin.
This was my first time and it turned out pretty well. Although they seem more like chocolate chips in the corners than brownies because of the hardness. Oops.
